WASHINGTON, D.C. - In this highly competitive real estate market, the playing field changes once more. Kathleen Wilks, who joined Compass Inc. through their acquisition of Wydler Brothers Real Estate last November, is leaving Compass to become the Chief Marketing Officer of Washington Fine Properties. At Wydler Brothers she was President and Chief Marketing Officer. Says Ms. Wilks, “I’ve lived in DC nearly my entire life and have known and always respected the WFP brand. Right out of the gate the WFP Partners created a real estate model unlike any other model in the Capital Region. They run the Firm as a professional services firm, holding their clients and their agents, top of mind, at all times. I am so excited to be joining one of the truly iconic real estate firms in the nation today.”

“Kathleen is going to be a great addition to our Firm,” said Tom Anderson, President of WFP. “She’s not only an incredibly skilled marketing professional, but also a great leader, and an amazing fit with our culture. That’s three for three.” Prior to joining Wydler Brothers in 2014, Wilks spent most of her career running Rosenthal Partners (now RP3 Agency) a local advertising firm, as SVP and Director of Account Management. Her accounts included a division of Marriott, Sigma Tau Pharmaceuticals and CoStar. With a degree in Marketing from Georgetown University, Wilks also had a brief stint at CNN. After joining Wydler Brothers and implementing a rebranding effort, Wydler Brothers broke off from Long & Foster to become their own independent brokerage. Shortly thereafter, Wilks was named President and CMO, the position she has served in until the recent acquisition by Compass.

Says Wilks, “We have so much planned moving forward, particularly around messaging. WFP, except for its Sales Performance Charts, which are pretty impressive, has always kept a more discrete profile. For instance, people might not know that their “open architecture” technology platform is second to none, offering amazing client and agent tools. A number of firms are touting technology today almost to the exclusion of their agents, but what I like about WFP is that they will always first and foremost be a relational firm. With that said, technology will always drive their business model and create new efficiencies.”

Washington Fine Properties is the premier residential real estate brokerage in our Nation’s Capital.  Known for dominating market share of luxury properties, their focus remains on providing the same luxury experience to clients selling or buying in all price points. Their agents are highly experienced, smart, and friendly, focused on delivering unparalleled results to their clients. WFP was founded by Tom Anderson, Dana Landry, Bill Moody, and Marc Schappell –Partners who are fiercely devoted to the success of their agents and clients.
