Description

In 1946 The Tonga Room celebrated its first anniversary, the San Francisco 49ers played their first season, and Frank and Jessie Morgan bought 2862 Bush Street. For the next seventy years the home served as a center of family life for holidays and special occasions. Jazz played on the Victrola, children slid down the glossy walnut bannister, and dinner was served in a dining room that could seat up to twenty. Through the decades the floor plan served every need. The master bedroom had an adjoining bath, while the second bedroom enjoyed a garden view and access to another bath off the hall. The third bedroom with its extra closet and sink could even work for a boarder in a pinch. Over the years, the family grew pears and lemons in the deep back yard, added a third bath on the main floor and stored generations of memorabilia in the full length basement. Today they are ready to pass the home on to new owners ready to create another seven decades of memories.
