In 1884 on the corner of the Tesselschadestraat/Vondelstraat, near the Vondelpark an URBAN VILLA was established, named 'Oud Leyerhoven', on the instruction of P.J.H. Cuypers designed by his son Jos T.J. Cuypers, as his first work, in eclectic architectural style, in which, among others, influences from Italian architecture have been processed. The villa served as a residence for the client and was later inhabited by Jos Cuypers.
