Licensed Texas real estate broker and consistent top producer Karen Gillespie has sold real estate in Houston for nearly 30 years. Karen is well-versed in representing buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants, and has a knack for meeting clients’ needs with the least amount of fuss. She also has extensive experience working with local builders and major marketing firms representing new developments in Houston’s inner-Loop, close-in and suburban neighborhoods.
“I began my real estate career straight out of college and it was a great fit,” Karen says. “I started in relocation leasing, which gave me the opportunity to learn a variety of residential properties and to understand the challenges faced by individuals and families when being transferred.”
Known for hard work, excellent negotiating skills, and a “never give up” attitude, Karen holds the Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (ALHS) and Accredited Home Staging (AHS) designations. She credits her continued success to market knowledge, personal service, tenacity, detailed follow-up, and a heartfelt commitment and dedication to those she represents.
Karen receives much of her business from return clients and referrals from satisfied clients and friends. “I love real estate because every day is a new challenge. The relationships I build with buyers and sellers last for generations. My association with John Daugherty, Realtors is also a great part of my success. JDR has an outstanding commitment to buyers, sellers, and their agents.”
A second-generation Houstonian, Karen graduated from St. Agnes Academy, attended Southern Methodist University and earned a degree in communications from the University of St. Thomas. She earned her real estate sales license in 1987 and received her broker’s license in 1993.
Karen is an active volunteer with VICTORY, part of the Houston Chapter of the American Cancer Society. When not working, she enjoys spending time with friends, the arts, travel, and taking in Houston dining and entertainment venues.
