Kraig Forbes has a genuine passion for Colorado's alpine mountain lifestyle. This attraction was likely influenced by his great grandfather, who emigrated from Scotland to Leadville, Colorado in 1882. Kraig and Jill's son Liam, born in 2005, represents the fifth generation of the Forbes clan to call Colorado's central mountains home.
Kraig moved to Vail in 1980 when he began his real estate career. In 1982 he was selected as one of half a dozen pioneer brokers to represent Vail Associates Real Estate in the, then fledgling, Beaver Creek Resort. He was consistently one of the firm’s top producers. In 1995 he organized his own firm, Forbes Group, and associated the firm with Sotheby’s International Realty in 2007. Kraig has distinguished himself as one of the preeminent real estate professionals in the Vail Valley, successfully closing approximately $750 million dollars in property sales.
As a principal, he has demonstrated a firm financial commitment to the valley, acquiring and
developing Wayne Creek Commons subdivision in the 1990s. The homes within remain among the most sought after properties in Beaver Creek.
Kraig served 4 years on the Beaver Creek Metropolitan District Board of Directors. He has been a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity, and was appointed by the County Commission as a
member of the Eagle County Affordable Housing Task Force.
A true Vail Valley real estate expert, Kraig focuses today primarily on the listing and sale of property in the exclusive Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead communities. His intuitive
understanding of these unique real estate markets is of great benefit to his long list of clients, many of whom he has represented in multiple transactions over the years.
