"My wife and I lived in Hoboken for 16 years. After having our second child, we decided it was time to find more space. I work in NYC, so I need an easy commute. Since we didn’t own a car, our knowledge of the surrounding suburban areas was limited. We met Amy after being referred to her group by several friends. Amy spent the first couple weekends taking us on tours of Chatham, Summit, New Providence, Short Hills, Millburn, Maplewood and South Orange. The purpose was to get us familiar with the communities. It was great! Soon we were looking at houses. We had only lived in condos. Amy was great at explaining everything we didn’t understand (SUP pumps??). After a couple weeks, we figured out what we wanted in a house. At a social event, Amy had a casual conversation with someone that was considering selling their home. After hearing the description and then visiting the house, she knew it fit our requirements to a tee. We made a special trip out to see the home and made an offer later that night. After some good negotiating on Amy’s end, the offer was accepted. Amy is extremely knowledgeable of the towns along the midtown direct train lines. She works hard for her buyers; educating them about the neighborhoods and diligently searches for appropriate houses. I think she will do a great job for you too!"

"The Sue Adler Team was wonderful to work with. We had a few changes along the way and together we were able to be adaptable and flexible and arrange a sale to a buyer who loved the home as much as we had. The transaction specialists were helpful, amazing, honest, hardworking and simply seamless which made the closing easy."

"Laurie and her team smoothed a lot of bumps for us in what could have easily turned into a nightmarish process. Our buyers were fastidious, and the expertise shown by Laurie and her team helped us navigate the various situations that popped up. Laurie also displayed great patience as we dragged our feet to put our house on the market, showing she has a strong ability to know her clients and to respond to their needs. We followed Laurie's advice and that of her colleagues throughout the process, and we're extremely glad we did. I can confidently recommend her to anyone looking to sell a home in the area."

I would like to give my review of Seth Bogdanoff of Keller Williams. He is very dedicated to his work and very business oriented. He went above and beyond to help my family and I find the perfect house. He was always there for us answering any questions we had in a timely matter. He helped in every step of the process. He was quick to respond to all of my questions and very knowledgeable of what was asked of him.

"Sue and her team were focused on every aspect of our record-breaking sale in Maplewood, NJ. We were in the midst of an international move and after 14 years in our amazing house needed a team that could help with everything - We knew we wanted a very focused and professional marketing approach - the 'launch', photos, brochure, social media and approach to appointments and open houses was important to us. We also needed a lot of help on all the details - purging and clearing, administration, staging etc. Sue's team handled everything. Ultimately, after living in an amazing house which we renovated from top to bottom, and raised our large family and 2 dogs, in a neighborhood and community we loved, we were delighted that we had multiple offers and a record-breaking sale. It was traumatic to make such a big move, but the support and guidance we got from the team helped us every step of the way."

Not only did Sue have a command of the quantitative market dynamics but she also understands the “art” in deal making Simply put, Sue is as good as it gets. She specializes in sell side transactions and did EXACTLY what she said she would in selling our home. Not only did she have a command of the quantitative market dynamics but she also understands the “art” in deal making. We trusted her judgment from start to finish and were very pleased with the outcome. She is smart, trustworthy and hard working. I have nothing but the highest praise for Sue and would recommend her without question. Jake and Nikki Cappps, Summit NJ home seller

We had our house in Chatham on the market for six months with another realtor without any offers. We re-signed with Sue and after a few suggestions and on-point marketing she was able to bring us 3 offers almost immediately. She worked incredibly hard for us and was always straightforward and honest, offering up solid advice. If I am ever in the market to buy/sell a house again, I would absolutely work with Sue and her team.” Lauren and Chris Wightman Chatham NJ home sellers

You are here: Home » Featured Testimonials » Extremely trustworthy, wonderful to work with, and can be tough when negotiations call for it Extremely trustworthy, wonderful to work with, and can be tough when negotiations call for it We recommend Sue Adler and her team without reservation to anyone buying or selling a home in Short Hills. Sue was everything we were looking for in a real estate agent! Her knowledge of the town and specific neighborhoods in which we were looking, her ability to work well with other agents, her advice on valuations and negotiations, and her overall kindness and warm nature make her simply the best in her field. She is a database of listings and properties, she is very responsive and always reachable. She is extremely trustworthy, wonderful to work with and yet she can be tough when negotiations call for it. Were it not for the fact that we are thrilled with our new home and expect to stay for some time, we would look forward to working with Sue Adler again and happily recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch agent. “Let’s just say that Sue and Dawn went way, way, way above and beyond… “ If you were going to sell your house, you’d have to come up with reasons why you wouldn’t ask Sue to take on the challenge. She’s that good. Okay, so there are several caveats. First, Sue and I have been friends and colleagues long before she helped me sell my house in MIllburn. Second, some of this review is not just Sue herself, but her team, especially Dawn Preziosi, her transactions manager. Third, I’m likely not your typical consumer since I work in the industry and know too much. Having said that, if you were going to sell your house in one of Sue’s markets, you’d have to come up with reasons why you wouldn’t ask her to take on the challenge. You should start with, “Is there any reason why I shouldn’t use Sue?” She’s that good. Local knowledge — there may be other agents who have a better pulse on what is going on with the market at any given time. I just don’t know them. She and her team handle so many listings, handle so many buyers, and are doing so many deals that they have a really, really good grasp of what’s going on, what buyers are thinking, what features are important, and which are not. She knows the towns, the neighborhoods, the schools, what it’s like to live there… pretty impressive for a Philly native. One piece of advice: if you’re going to list with Sue, just listen to her advice on pricing. You might think your house is one-in-a-million exception, but she has a far better grasp on the market than you do. You hire her for that knowledge and insight, so don’t argue with her. Process expertise — between her and Dawn, possibility the best duo you want on your side. Ask Sue sometime about “bulletproofing the transaction” — the woman knows her stuff as it comes to what has to be done to get a deal done, what the steps are, and what creates demand. And Dawn may be the best “project manager” for a home sale you could find. She’s totally on top of every single step. Responsiveness – maybe it’s because we’re friends, but I doubt it. Keeping in mind that she is busy pretty much all the time, speaks nationally (internationally even) at huge major conferences, and so on, Sue is pretty much always available. And Dawn even more so. I recommend email and text messages, actually, rather than phone calls because they’re usually running around doing something, but they get back to you in a hurry. Doing the sale from Texas, there were some parts of the transaction where communication could have gotten fouled up; they were on top of the issues and smoothed everything out. Negotiation skills — since I wasn’t on the phone listening to Sue negotiate, I have no way of judging this. But consider the result: I did not have to sell. We had great tenants in the place already. We would have been happy to just hold on to it as an investment property. But I got the price and terms I wanted, so I did. If results are an indication of negotiation skills, then you got nothing to worry about. The Extras — Let’s just say that Sue and Dawn went way, way, way above and beyond what you’d expect from a real estate agent. Two examples come to mind. First, we had moved away and the house was vacant, when we got hit with a NJ snowstorm. We didn’t actually know who to call to arrange for the driveway and sidewalk to be shoveled so the house can be shown. Well, Sue got her husband (I believe) to actually take a shovel out to our house and have it shoveled. Not just once, but twice. Might have been three snowstorms, actually. Would your agent do that for you? Second, the cleaners we had hired did not do the greatest job in the kitchen; we got a call from Dawn that the oven was not cleaned as well as it should, and the appliances were not exactly sparkling. Well, Ms. Preziosi went down there herself, personally, with scrubbing brushes in hand, and spent an hour on a Saturday morning cleaning our frikkin’ oven by hand so the house was ready to be shown. That’s… well, you tell me if your agent would do THAT for you. So, like I said, if you’re going to sell in Millburn, Short Hills, or any of her other markets… you should come up with a good reason why you wouldn’t want to use Sue and her team. “Sold my Livingston home quickly in poor market” Sue helped me sell my Livingston home in a truly poor market. Her creativity and willingness to find options and alternatives and really market the house was amazing. You can’t beat her internet marketing savvy which keeps buyers as well as sellers tuned in to where the market is. I highly recommend using Sue for selling your house. Sue worked her magic in the worst market ever. “I became a fan of Sue Adler when I first met her about 4 years ago in one of the many open houses I like to go into (I like to look at houses even if I am not in the market for one ? kind of a crazy hobby of mine). After I met Sue I knew that if I were ever in the market to either sell or buy she would undoubtedly be the person I would choose to work with. For four years, she has kept me updated about homes and I have visited many (if not all) of her open houses in the Millburn/Short Hills area. What has always impressed me about Sue is her ability to understand the market and really grasp the pros and cons of each individual property in order to market and price it effectively. In addition, Sue has a tremendous ability to understand her sellers? and buyers? likes and dislikes and she knows exactly what they are looking for. For example, she immediately got a sense of my taste and preferences and I have never, ever been shown a property by Sue that I didn?t like. Sue has never hesitated to take time out of her hectic schedule to show me a property (even when she probably knew that we were not going to move at that time). Four years later we finally decided to sell our home of 8 years in South Orange. Naturally, we called Sue, she came in and worked her magic ? did I mention her amazing marketing skills and her amazing photographer and team. Sue knew how to price my house in order to generate interest. As soon as I gave her the go, she did everything needed to be done and pictures of my house went up in her amazing website. We had a broker?s open house on a Thursday, the general open house on Sunday and by Tuesday the house was SOLD, and guess what — in this market we had 10 offers and a bidding war. WE COULDN?T BELIEVE IT!I think that without Sue?s guidance and knowledge of the market, our house would probably still have a ?For Sale? sign outside. Now, one more thing, equally important as Sue?s incredible business skills is the fact that Sue is a pleasure to deal with. She was a tower of strength for us in an incredibly stressful situation. Our choice to move and sell the only home that we have known was not an easy one but having Sue meant that we not only had the best broker working for us but we had a supportive friend who was looking out for our best interests. So my advice to anyone out there looking to either sell or buy ? call Sue. I promise you will not regret it. Lourdes Blanco and Andres Lederman , South Orange & Short Hills NJ

Sue’s Greatest Strength Was In Her Pricing Strategy When Selling Our Maplewood Home. Sue is an extremely knowledgeable and experienced real estate agent. Her greatest strength was in her pricing strategy when selling our Maplewood home. It’s critical in this market to price a home correctly so there’s interest from potential buyers and the listing doesn’t get stale. We followed Sue’s guidance and were not disappointed. She brought us multiple offers in this buyer’s market. It’s a tricky market right now and if you want to sell your home quickly you need to rely on good advice from an accomplished agent. Sue is definitely someone I would trust to sell my home again. Leslie and Mark Schiffer, Maplewood NJ Home Sellers and Buyers

From DAY ONE, the Adler team never let me down I don’t normally give reviews, as while most people I work with do a good job, it is no more than they should be doing. Sue and her team are the exception to my rule. We had bought another home out of state and were moving to it prior to listing our NJ one, and so it could have been a nightmare of a process as I am a control freak and wouldn’t be able to see what was going on or get involved. From DAY ONE, the Adler team never let me down. From marketing to open house, to feedback follow-ups and more importantly keeping me updated with HONEST information, apart from the 750 miles between us I felt as though I was there. Sue got 3 offers and perfectly negotiated the deal. Dawn was the project manager and while there truly were minimal issues that the buyers wanted attended to, it was an absolute relief when Dawn told me that she would handle it all. We have bought and sold several times and never had the level of care or service that was being shown by Sue and Dawn. Dawn also handled the required town inspections, letting me know when they were taking place and once they were done. I think I can sum up Sue Adler and her wonderful team simply by saying that they are honest professionals. They know what they are doing and try and take the stress out of the process, they are honest with all information (it may not be exactly what you want to hear but it’s the truth) and they do what they say they will do. Sue doesn’t sell homes in NC so I doubt we will ever work with her again, but I can guarantee you that if we ever were to look to buy a house in NJ again we would certainly work with Sue and we have zero reservations about recommending her to our friends and anyone else who will listen to us! If you’ve read this testimonial and haven’t read any others, please read them, you will find a constant theme running through them. Happy Sellers who found the same great things about the Adler team that we did. List with Sue, she will do her best for you the way she and her team did for us. Fiona & Philip Duffell
