Ignacio Vega was born in Monterey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and raised in Houston, Texas. He has resided in Lamorinda since 1976. Ignacio managed The Vintage House Restaurant in Orinda until 1984, was licensed in real estate in 1985 and currently resides in Moraga with his wife, Martha, and their daughter and two sons. They are members of Moraga Country Club and Ig is involved in numerous community activities as well as being an avid golfer and oenophile.
