There’s a saying that some people never meet a stranger, only friends. Sarah Tafoya is that someone.
From the moment you meet this warm, friendly and soft-spoken woman, you feel like you’re already
going to be very good friends. For her customers, this means so much more than that. She puts them at
ease and lets them know that everything is going to be just fine.
Sarah grew up in New Mexico, just 6 miles from the Colorado border. With a strong sense of
independence, and her easy-going personality, she entered the world of hardware sales and soon was
an award winning top producing woman in a male-dominated industry. In fact, she had the highest
producing year in the company’s history with a total of $4.2 million in sales.
A devoted wife and mother found her leaving her career to home school her children, a move she says
was one of the best decisions of her life. “My children came first and I wanted them to know the joy of
being with their parents and receiving the type of education I felt they deserved. It was definitely the
right move as our oldest son graduated high school at 15 years of age and is currently volunteering by
helping to rebuild post-Irma Puerto Rico.”
When Sarah and her husband decided to move to Florida, Sarah answered a Craig’s List ad and rented a
home in Vero Beach. She and her husband immediately fell in love with the “small town village by the
sea” feel of Vero and 3 years ago moved their family here.
Sarah has always been her family’s “go to” person for travel, real estate and legal matters so it seemed
fitting that she eventually got her real estate license. “I am able to zone in on each customer’s needs,
situations, personality and emotions and adjust accordingly. I listen carefully and design our home
search or selling technique tailored to them.” Sarah has dozens of texts and emails from happy
customers praising her for her attentiveness and her way of putting them at ease and creating a stress-
free transaction process.
Sarah chose to join DSRE for a number of reasons. “I love their strong family values and commitment to
the community. I had always admired their professionalism and reputation in the industry but I also saw
that they had the strengths I needed to succeed in this market. Quite frankly, no other company has the
training and support for their agents that this company has. I’m really excited to be a part of this team.”
Sarah has made South and Central Vero Beach her specialty, focusing on Falcon Trace, Millstone
Landing, and Ashley Lakes. She believes it’s critical to really become an expert in neighborhood features
and amenities in order to market them properly. However, she has listings throughout Indian River
County and in other states including New Mexico and Connecticut. Her strong negotiation skills and
innovative marketing skills make her a trusted source for referrals and for answers about the real estate
Sarah and her husband, Dan, have 3 children ages 18, 15 and 9. She is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys
hiking, boating, paddle boarding, fishing, backpacking and hunting.
Sarah believes in face-to-face marketing and loves coming up with unique ways to meet people and get
to know them. She recently took a platter of food to a poker club’s get together. “I love being a part of
my community and neighborhood and making friends.” In fact, most strangers usually become Sarah’s
