Julia comes to Handsome Properties and Charleston after living in a variety of famed cities, both domestically and abroad. She boasts a varied professional background, first as director of customer relations for Land Rover North America followed by a stint as a Managing Director for a boutique hotel in Telluride, Colorado. Although Julia has extensive travel experience, Charleston’s unique charm and sophisticated lifestyle ultimately enticed her.
Her understanding of historic structures and love of colonial architecture is what initially drew her to real estate in the old and historic districts of Charleston. Studying years ago at Brillantmont International School in Lausanne, Switzerland helped Julia to feel very comfortable with a discerning clientele. Additionally, Julia has been fortunate to study and travel extensively both domestically and internationally. She is quite likely the only realtor in Charleston who has both met the Dalai Lama and trekked to Everest. These experiences have given her an appreciation for the importance of discretion, integrity, and an interest in diverse cultural perspectives.
Julia’s real estate career is based on determination and high ethical values. She sees that her professional and personal touches yield positive results. Julia takes pride in making each transaction as seamless as possible for clients who have a desire to buy, sell or invest in and around the Holy City.
With this perspective, Julia knows that her greatest blessing of all is living with her two sons in beautiful Charleston. Julia enthusiastically volunteers with Porter-Gaud School and is a member of a woman’s study group at St. Phillips Church. Her passion for fitness is evident throughout the Lowcountry – she can often be found running on the streets South of Broad, paddle-boarding on Shem Creek, or walking over the Cooper River Bridge with friends.
My Favorite thing about Charleston:
I love the fact that this small city is richly historic but vibrantly current. We have stunning homes, highly acclaimed restaurants, a world-class art festival (Spoleto), but the serenity of nature is literally just steps away. It is very difficult to choose only one wonderful thing about Charleston. What sets Charleston apart, I think, is that it is outstanding on so many levels. I am reminded daily of how fortunate I am to live and work here!
