LIV Sotheby’s International Realty Broker, Chris Merman, Helps Light the Way for Denver Students This Holiday

1450124979DENVER, CO - LIV Sotheby’s International Realty broker, Chris Merman, has organized Light The Way For Denver Students, a community event featuring holiday luminaries, taking place at Spinelli’s Market on the corner of 23rd and Dexter on Saturday, December 19th and Sunday, December 20th.

With the help of local Park Hill market, Spinelli’s, and the Park Hill and Stapleton communities, Merman and fellow participants will donate proceeds from the Light The Way For Denver Students event to the YESS Institute and McAuliffe International school.

The YESS Institute (Youth Empowerment Support Services) is a local non-profit agency serving the Denver community, which offers training in peer mentoring and school engagement programs in Denver Public High Schools. Founder of the YESS Institute, Carlo Kriekels, said “the most powerful way to inspire and engage youth is through peer to peer mentoring. Now in its 15th year, YESS serves over 250 high-risk students in five Denver Public High Schools annually. “We are extremely grateful for the commitment of Chris and LIV Sotheby’s International Realty to help YESS students be successful on their road to success.”

McAuliffe International School has been ranked one of the top ten middle schools in Colorado. “I love that our students and school have touched the community so deeply that we have neighbors willing to put together events such as Light The Way For Denver Students. McAuliffe parents and students are proud and honored to be recognized by Chris and LIV Sotheby’s International Realty,” said Cindy Eastman, Community Liaison for McAuliffe International School.

Park Hill and Stapleton neighbors will come together on December 24th to light luminaries in support of Denver students. “My vision for years to come is that each luminary lit will represent a student here in Denver and that we can get nearly all Park Hill and Stapleton households to join one another to light up our neighborhoods in support of the growth and development of our students,” said Merman.

“We are looking forward to hosting the community at our neighborhood gathering place to celebrate the holidays and support neighborhood students,” said John Moutzouris, owner of Spinelli’s Market and Spinelli’s South.

Pick-up times are from 8am to 12pm on Saturday, December 19, and 12pm to 4pm on Sunday, December 20. For more information about the Light The Way For Students With Holiday Luminaries event and for complete details about supply pick-up, visit the event’s webpage: holidayluminaries.eventbrite.com.
