Chase International Carrying Ancient Rice for Holiday Giving

Posted by Katie Shaffer — December 11, 2013

1386797307ZEPHYR COVE, NV – Hela Bima rice, a sacred rice grown in Sri Lanka and unavailable for centuries, is now offered in Lake Tahoe and Reno through the holidays by way of Chase International, a staunch supporter of the Hela Bima Rice Project.

The ancient variety of sacred rice is grown with conscious blessing from the farmers and energized by Dr. Jayanath Abeywickrama, a friend of Shari Chase, founder of Chase International. The grains are harvested, milled and packaged by rural community farmers using old Singhalese wisdom, without chemicals, pesticides or harmful fertilizers. The rice provides medical benefits too. All proceeds from the sales go to Sri Lankan farmers, allowing them to flourish physically and as a society.

1386797397The farmers embrace what is known as agro-wisdom, using traditional farming practices and lunar cycles to determine auspicious times for planting and harvesting. According to Dr. Abeywickrama, "this project represents agro culture, not agro business."

“His teachings are all about living a wholesome life, full of joy and success,” Chase said. “This is another heart-centered project for Chase International, inspired by the idea that as we help others, we also help ourselves.”

Chase realtors are known for their charitable endeavors, both locally and on the international level. A portion of all Chase transactions goes to support the Hela Bima Rice Project and Sri Lankan communities. The beautifully packaged rice is available at all ten of Chase offices in the region (around Lake Tahoe and in Reno). Visit www.ChaseInternational.com to look up nearby office locations.

“We are supporting this project for a wonderful cause with a beautiful benefit,” Chase said. “Anyone who buys the rice is supporting humanity.”
