A Dress You Don’t Want Could Save a Life

1338915752Sanibel, FL (June 3, 2012) – Have you ever purchased a dress that was perfect for one special occasion and doubt you’ll wear it again? Would you like to see someone else enjoy that dress and know that by donating it you have helped a teenage girl find her path towards a brighter future?

Then gather that dress (anything from beach to bridal) and stop-in at the dress collection party for PACE Center for Girls of Lee County on Tuesday, June 19 from 5:30-7 p.m. at The Village Shops located at 2340 Periwinkle Way. Bring your dress donation and $5 (which entitles you to a dining certificate from Matazluna Restaurant), mix and mingle with your friends as you choose from raffle items donated by many “Shop On Sanibel” retailers, light hors d’oeuvres and wine courtesy of Royal Shell Real Estate, Royal Shell Vacations and Matzaluna Restaurant. After the raffle winners are announced, continue the party down Periwinkle at Matzaluna where 15% of your dinner tab that evening will be donated to PACE.

1338915801Dresses collected throughout Lee County are resold at the main “Love That Dress!” event at the Embassy Suites on August 29, 2012. For additional information on this event, please “friend” Love That Dress on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lovethatdress or visit www.lovethatdress.org.

Funds raised will help PACE provide education, counseling, training and advocacy for girls, ages 12-17, who are facing challenges such as abuse, neglect and abandonment. PACE believes each girl deserves the opportunity to celebrate a life of responsibility, dignity, serenity and grace. Here is a sample of the way PACE affects their lives.

PACE showed me that what happened to me was not my fault. PACE helped get the anger out of me.” -Brittany, 17

At PACE you are surrounded by people who care. They were willing to hear my story without judging me. PACE doesn’t just teach school things. PACE teaches you what you need to know to survive in this world.”-Natori, 17

We hope you’ll join us and play a part in assisting more young women in their quest to find their voice and realize their potential. For additional party information call 239-472-2783 or barb.h@royalshell.com.
