Surterre's April eWaste Event A Success

1336665253Surterre’s recent Newport Beach area eWaste drive, held at its Fashion Island headquarters on April 28th, did a tremendous amount of good for the environment, collecting approximately 3,156 pounds (over 1.5 tons) of electronic waste, and shredding approximately 4,360 pounds of confidential documents on-site. For this event, Surterre and the local community’s commitment to ProShred’s environmentally conscious shredding and recycling service saved 38 trees.

A free service to the public held on a quarterly basis in three different areas of Orange County, Surterre’s eWaste drives offer individuals an easy opportunity to keep our planet and its landfills clean. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to bring those old electronics they don’t know what to do with (clunky television sets, fax machines, printers, and the like), and paper to be shredded by ProShred to these events where they will be collected and recycled. Best of all, participants don’t even have to leave their car. There are no forms to complete, and any stored data will be safely and completely eradicated.

1336665290“Our eWaste drives are just one way that we uphold our commitment to preserving the environment while helping the community,” explained Paula Ansara-Wilhelm, Chief Marketing Officer of Surterre Properties®. “Nearly 108 cars drove through to drop off waste for recycling at this event. We’re thrilled at how well-received these drives continue to be.”
