EVERGREEN PARK, IL USA – Laura Freeman, managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago’s Evergreen Park office, is pleased to announce that agents and staff held a donation drive for the Finley Forever Foundation during the firm’s annual Community Kindness initiative. The Finley Forever Foundation works with the oncology department at Lurie Children’s Hospital and offers numerous activities and events. They provide cooler bags of goodies including gift cards for kids and parents, hold toy drives, donate small pop-up play tents so that younger patients can have a space of their own and provide coffee for the staff break room on the inpatient oncology floor. They also founded the "Lights & Ladders Brigade", combined with other foundations, to decorate the homes of families battling cancer or other illnesses for Christmas.
The event was very successful thanks to the enormous generosity of the community and coordination efforts of Foundation Ambassadors Denise Amraen and Laurie Ach. They delivered the donations to Lacey Bracken, founder of the Finley Forever Foundation. Donations included: 108 stress balls, 43 sets of sheets, 18 blankets, Amazon, Starbucks, Subway and Visa gift cards, Crayola window markers, Chapstick, coffee, creamer and sweetener, craft supplies for making jewelry, stationery and journaling, laundry essentials, toys, monetary donations and more. Donations were also sent directly to the Finley Forever Foundation from their Amazon wish list.
The event also included drawings for the following donated items: Brighton jewelry sets, a dried flower arrangement from AK Floral, a BBQ goodie bag, a BHHS Chicago umbrella, flip flops, and water bottle goodie bag, a firestick.
Freeman said, “When our Foundation Ambassadors Denise Amraen and Laurie Ach learned of the important work the Finley Forever Foundation does to help young cancer patients, they knew it was a great activity for us. It was truly heart-warming to receive such generous donations from the community as well as our own agents and staff. I’d like to thank everyone for their thoughtful support and participation.”
