American Caribbean Real EstateISLAMORADA, FL - On a private island, in the Florida Keys, Craig Cay, a brand new mid-construction Bespoke luxury home on over 1.5 bayfront acres, has traded hands for $8,600,000, making it the highest sale the Keys has seen, not only this year, but since 2017. Kelly K. Shaw and Trent M. P. Shaw of American Caribbean, Christie’s International Real Estate, held the listing and procured the buyer. The marketing and negotiating skills of their team proved successful once again with the closing of this estate.

“Craig Cay has been one of the most outstanding and lucrative listings in my 28-year career of selling luxury estates in the Florida Keys, resulting in thousands of inquiries over the years,” said Kelly Shaw. “I have had the distinct privilege of participating in the past three sales of this property since my original sale in 2004 and again in 2017. My son, Trent M. P. Shaw, joined our team in 2012 and worked with me to exceed expectations on this sale. While we would have loved to sell the finished product, we know the new owners have even bigger and better plans for this wonderful estate, and we look forward to following Craig Cay's progress over time.”

This is the 10th sale north of $5 million in 2020, with American Caribbean Real Estate participating in 1/3 of those transactions, and now making this the highest in the area since 2017. This deal comes on the heels of the sale of Ballast Trail, which closed in July for $6.7 million, now making it the second-highest sale of 2020. Kelly and Trent Shaw held the listing for this sale as well.

Ignacio Martinez, Igmar Enterprises, LLC, the owner/builder who acquired the property in 2017, said, “Kelly Shaw and Trent Shaw have been more than a blessing to work with. They helped us find the best property in the Keys, Craig Cay, where we built this magnificent home. The best part was they even helped us find a buyer! They are so humble and reliable, which is super important to me.”

Craig Cay, a unique once in a lifetime property, was sold under construction as a shell for a magnificent, ground-level, sprawling 9,737-square-foot home. Highlights include six bedrooms, six full baths, two-half baths, an exercise room, glass solarium, three-car garage with guest quarters, 300 feet of deep water, a protected boat basin with 106 feet of concrete dock, and an impressive 222-foot-long pool wrapping around two sides of the home.

Martin, Broker/Owner of American Caribbean, Christie’s International Real Estate. “The sale of this private island estate demonstrates the demand for luxury, privacy, dockage and new construction in the Florida Keys.”

“Kelly and Trent innovative marketing techniques and work ethic have always made them huge assets to their clients and our company,” said Martin.
