Barcelona, located in the Catalan region of Spain, is known for its art, architecture, food, shopping and sports. Towering monuments viewed by millions each year include the modernist Segrada Familia and the gothic Barcelona Cathedral. Being along the coast of the Mediterranean, Barcelona's beaches are enjoyed by many, as is the cultural and artistic hub of the street Las Ramblas. A central hangout by locals and visitors alike, a walk down this historic boulevard is a filled with shops, bars, and restaurants.
