Barcelona, located in the Catalan region of Spain, is known for its art, architecture, food, shopping and sports. Towering monuments viewed by millions each year include the modernist Segrada Familia and the gothic Barcelona Cathedral. Being along the coast of the Mediterranean, Barcelona's beaches are enjoyed by many, as is the cultural and artistic hub of the street Las Ramblas. A central hangout by locals and visitors alike, a walk down this historic boulevard is a filled with shops, bars, and restaurants. Opportunities to feast on tapas, learn the flamenco, or shop for Spanish designer styles are everywhere. Barcelona is also known for their enthusiasm for sports. A 1992 host to the Olympics, the city's locals enjoy tennis, drag racing, marathons, and they are fanatics for fútbol. Living in Barcelona brings a much needed culture and poise to one’s life.
