This truly is one of the most unique homes in all of Costa Rica. The Bali House is a 5 bedroom 7 bath Balinese villa nestled into the rainforest just steps away from the beach. It was designed by Balinese architect Ketut Arthana. Arthana is internationally recognized for his insightful work in designing luxury residences, tropical resorts and spas throughout Asia, Hawaii, North America and Europe including the elegant Puri Woolandari hotel in Bali, one of the Small Leading Hotels of the World. The villa was initially designed and constructed in Bali from Indonesian ironwood. It was disassembled and shipped to Costa Rica where it was carefully reconstructed by a team of Balinese craftsmen. The villa welcomes the jungle and the refreshing sea breezes, creating a cool and exotic location that intoxicates our guests with the sights and sounds of nature. Monkeys visit our pool deck daily. Many times sloths can be seen up in the trees, and if you are a bird lover - toucans, parrots, mot-mot's, hummingbirds and many other exotic birds make their home here.
The home itself was originally a 3 bedroom residence with the 4th adn 5th bedrooms having been added on to create a higher volume rental home. The same balinese style, colors adn feel was used in the addition to create a seamless space. The home has an immaculate level of detail including hand pounded coper sinks and tubs, hand crafted furniture made frome exotic coconut, mother of pearl inlays, sandstone scuptures and much more. While most homes in the area are squeezed into small lots with neighboring homes in clear site, this is one of the few homes which feels incredible private and secluded. Also this home is the last home on full titled land before the maritime zone and provides a secluded walk to the main beaches of Manuel Antonio making it one of the only few homes in the area with direct beach access.
