Sharon Smith Purdy, GRI, ABR, CBR, CRS, CRB

Owner of both Sandpiper Realty, Inc. and Sandpiper Rentals, Inc., Sherry has been actively involved in the real estate profession for more than thirty years. A firm advocate of continuing education for real estate professions, Sherry holds five designations, which are earned both through classroom hours and level of experience.  Sherry was instrumental in bringing professionalism to the Martha's Vineyard real estate community with the Introduction of the Realtor MLS in the 1980’s and again in the 1990’s when the current information distribution system, LINK, was brought to the Vineyard.  She also served on the Cape Cod and Islands Association of Realtors Board of Directors representing the Vineyard Realtors. Further, Sherry has devoted many hours to community service including participation on the Board of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce and the Martha’s Vineyard Historical Society, as well as holding a seat for many years on the Advisory Board for Compass Bank and one of the fundraising committees for the Island Affordable Housing Fund.  Currently, her time is given to the affordable housing effort on the island through her positions on the Edgartown Resident Homesite Committee, the Edgartown Affordable Housing Committee and the Chappaquiddick Affordable Housing Committee. She has been a leading proponent of land conservation and been instrumental in a number of sales to the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank Commission and to Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation.
