1391024571DENVER – Broker Associates, managers, and support personnel with Kentwood City Properties were active with a variety of charitable organizations during the 2013 holiday season, including the assemblage of 120 holiday personal care kits on behalf of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. The bags contained personal care items, hats, gloves and socks, plus toys for children and new and gently used coats.

“Our caring brokers assisted with purchasing the items for the holiday kits, with special assistance from Gloria Scruggs, our front desk manager, Susan Rotert from our support staff, and Broker Associate Allison Smookler. Their hard work helped make the project a great success,” said Jim Theye, Managing Broker and co-owner of Kentwood City Properties.

“We filled kits specifically for men, women and children, with the bags and a nice lunch donated by Chicago Title,” Theye continued. “We also completed a similar endeavor for residents of the Barth Hotel, a low income assisted living center for disabled seniors. We support a variety of charitable events that are supported by LoDo Cares, the Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association, and LoDo District, Inc.”

Kentwood City Properties also participated in the Barth Holiday Dinner by helping organize and serve the meal. The traditional holiday feast included turkey, ham, all the trimmings, and deserts generously donated by a variety of area restaurants and bakeries.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless has been helping the homeless for more than 26 years. The organization opens the door to hope for 15,000 adults and children each year. The Coalition considers the definition of homelessness to be anyone who lacks a fixed, regular or adequate residence. Please visit www.ColoradoCoalition.org for more information.

Additional LoDo Cares non-profit organizations supported by Kentwood City Properties include the Bienvenidos Food Bank, the Denver Rescue Mission, Third Way Center, and Urban Peak.

The LoDo Cares Holiday Project, in conjunction with the Lower Downtown Neighborhood Association, raised nearly $52,000 in the 2013 campaign. Beneficiaries were assisted monetarily and with actual goods.
