SEATTLE, WA USA – May 10, 2024 – On Sunday, May 5th, members of the global Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate (LRE®) network began arriving to attend the 20th Annual Luxury Real Estate Spring Retreat which took place at the newly renovated Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Spa. The exclusive event brought together top real estate professionals, industry leaders, and engaging speakers from around the world to connect, share, and discuss the latest trends in the luxury real estate industry.
The event commenced with an exclusive Board of Regents welcome reception hosted by Desert Sotheby’s International Realty. The following day, Regents heard from Jeremy Finkelstein of Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd., who shared how Harvey Kalles’ award-winning Builder Services Program has expanded the business footprint of their agents, generating new opportunities throughout the company. Attendees then heard from expert panelists, led by Board of Regents members, on ‘Thriving with Industry Disruption: Addressing Low Inventory, Lawsuits, and Consumer Confidence’. Members also joined a live interactive discussion on problem-solving the biggest issues they face today. The Board of Regents meeting concluded with the final speaker, Thomas Wright of Summit Sotheby’s International Realty, exploring the essential elements for success in negotiations. That evening, an opening reception was held to welcome newly arrived guests and kick off formal programming.
Other speakers at the event included industry icon Gary Gold of Coldwell Banker Global Luxury, who shared his most epic properties sold and how he beat out the best agents in the country for listings such as The Playboy Mansion, The Beverly Hillbillies Estate, and The William Randolph Hearst Estate. Members then enjoyed a memorable performance by David Gemme of Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty, speaking on overcoming challenges in a changing real estate market. Concluding Tuesday’s meeting, Morgan Carey of Real Estate Webmasters, shared insights on launching a successful team based on lead generation.
This day, attendees also enjoyed a morning yoga class led by Summit Sotheby’s International Realty’s Nancy Tallman, as well as a curated property tour hosted by Desert Sotheby’s International Realty. Members had the opportunity to tour a stunning one-of-a-kind Coachella Valley icon and the iconic Bing Crosby Estate, which showcased Hollywood’s golden age. Ironwood Clubhouse and Desert Horizons Clubhouse were included in this tour with their breathtaking views, the essence of the Desert. The evening concluded with an open bar reception at the hotel’s bar & lounge with cocktails complimentary of Desert Sotheby’s International Realty.
On the final meeting day, members heard from David Abernathy of Waterfront Properties & Club Communities, exploring the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the realm of real estate, and Pete Weller of Realforce, discussing what we’ve learned about real estate marketing. In addition, Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate members enjoyed a panel discussion on becoming ‘THE’ expert, where top producers shared their secrets to navigating success year after year.
The group then decompressed in afternoon leisure at the newly renovated hotel pools, spa, tennis & pickleball courts, or at El Paseo, the shopping district of the Coachella Valley. The event culminated with the closing night reception & dinner where members celebrated Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Syd Leibovitch, CEO of Rodeo Realty, for his many achievements, relentless hard work and unwavering commitment to the real estate industry.
