Horseshoe Bay, Texas, United States

Description

A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou…..

Featured in several national magazines and news journals over the last three years Le Chateau Reve is a family place. It is a place for children, parents and grandparents. There really is something for everyone. Children are always drawn to the water for fishing or wave running, waterskiing and boating. The lake is crystal clear, granite bottom, constant level, 22 miles long and 2.5 miles wide and we’ve got the most open, unobstructed view of any residence on it. When you see one of our sunrises you’ll savor the moment and you’ll never forget it. You’ll want to share the experience with your grandchildren and have them share it with theirs.

The Chateau is in Horseshoe Bay, Texas –; a resort community 45 minutes NW of Austin and 50 minutes North of San Antonio. Horseshoe Bay with all its palm trees, water and tropical vegetation looks more like Hawaii than anyplace you’ve ever imagined in Texas. All of that beautiful water is surrounded by some of the finest golf courses ever designed by Tom Fazio, Robert Trent Jones and Jack Nicklaus. If golf is your game Horseshoe Bay is heaven.

Chateau Reve was completely rebuilt from 2006-2007 and only recently completed. Our goal was to take our unique location and sparing no expense transform the structure into a Chateau-like Mediterranean architectural jewel. For those who love France and the wonderful Chateaux as well as the Cote D’azur, Hotel de Paris and the Monte Carlo Casino you’ll understand why the beautiful columns and balustrade were a must in our overall design as were lush tropical gardens and liberal use of exotic marble inlays, onyx and granite. Precision cut marble and hardwood floors reflect our theme of rococo Louis XV further accented by neo-classic pieces.

Hand carved legs and feet on cabinetry, hand carved fireplace mantels and Italian carved gold leaf mirrors all in the style representative of that period were shipped over and assembled by local craftsman and artisans. The amazing thing about the home is its ability to capture the beauty and majesty of century- old France with the perfect compliment of modern conveniences- the best money can buy. Featuring four plasma televisions up to 60”, leading edge surround sound music and audio visual controls by Sony, Marantz and Panasonic, state of the art appliances by Miele, Viking, Bosch and GE Monogram are applied so gingerly as to provide modern convenience without upsetting the ambiance of the period setting.

Although unusual for a home in Texas the five fireplaces are very befitting of any worthwhile chateau. The residence is also graced with four stunning chandeliers. Three of those (Grand Foyer, Master Bedroom suite and Master Bath) are of fine French crystal. The dining area is adorned by a Murano hand blown custom made milk glass chandelier. The Chandelier in the Master Suite is showcased by a gold accented Renaissance style seven foot circular ceiling medallion and painting depicting cherubim and seraphim. The walls of the Master suite are trimmed out picture frame paneling with recessed lighting highlighting the extra-wide crown around the ceiling.

The Mater bath suite shimmers with crystal and gold. A vintage slipper bath tub with golden feet is juxtaposed with the Seura mirror plasma television that can be view from the high arches of the frameless shower or reflected by the hand carved period mirrors which grace the walls. Through the glass shower area another surprise awaits. An outdoor tropical shower and conservatory complete with flowering hibiscus, ferns and a custom made gate leading to the lake and gardens.

If the inside doesn’t completely blow you away the outside will. You’ll never see another boathouse quite like this one. If the stone columns, balustrade and newel posts weren’t enough a shiny brass boot rail featuring griffins for supports frame the boat slip for the 25’ Chriscraft sport deck ski boat that comes with the property. ( so do 3 Yamaha wave runners). Opposite the boat slip the home features a full- sized covered outdoor bar with subzero wine and champagne vault, a Scotsman commercial icemaker and even an under lighted multi-tiered liquor display.

Up the stairs the outdoor living area is nearly 50’ long and over 20’ wide. A massive stone fireplace with a semi-circle granite hearth provides warmth on chilly winter nights while a custom awning spanning the upper deck provides the necessary shade and support for 4 outdoor ceiling fans making outdoor living pleasant all year round. The boathouse structure extends out over the water providing a 20 mile unobstructed view of Lake LBJ and the Texas Hill Country.

This is the way it was meant to be. Pour a couple of flutes of Crystal Rose, kiss your loved one and enjoy life!
