Das elegante Gebäude stammt aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert und war im Besitz einer alten römischen Adelsfamilie, die in den 1920er Jahren nach Mailand zog. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen und prestigeträchtigen Gegend der Stadt, nur wenige Schritte vom Konservatorium für Musik Giuseppe Verdi und der Piazza del Duomo entfernt. Fast fünfzig Jahre lang beherbergte das Haus den Schriftsteller Luigi Santucci, Gewinner des Campiello-Preises im Jahr 1967 Kritiker gelten als einer der größten Vertreter der italienischen Literatur der zweiten Hälfte des letzten Jahrhunderts. Der Keller, der oft für Empfänge und Partys genutzt wird, wurde von den Malern Giuseppe Novello und Mario Vellani Marchi mit Fresken bemalt. Das Haus, über das im Laufe der Jahre einige Teile davon in Büchern und Zeitschriften veröffentlicht wurden, ist zweifellos von historischer Bedeutung. Berühmte Namen der Literatur waren regelmäßig Gäste in der Santucci-Residenz.

Majestic historic villa in the Milan city center with private garden and parking place nearby.

The elegant building dates back to the early 1900s, owned by an ancient family of the Roman aristocracy who moved to Milan in the 1920s. Located in a quiet and prestigious area of the city, a few steps from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music and from Piazza del Duomo, the house hosted the writer Luigi Santucci for almost fifty years, considered by critics one of the greatest exponents of Italian literature in the second half of the last century. The basement of the house, often used for receptions and parties, was frescoed by the painters Giuseppe Novello and Mario Vellani Marchi. The house has an undoubted historical importance. Illustrious names of Italian literature have been regular guests in the Santucci residence. Among those who attended the Santucci residence there are: Don Primo Mazzolari, the poet David Maria Turoldo, Giuseppe Marotta, Giuseppe Lazzati, Italo Calvino, Piero Bargellini, Virgilio Lilli, Bruce Marshall, Elio Vittorini, Domenico Rea, Nazareno Fabbretti and, in more recent years, the cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture and a close friend of Santucci and his family.
The house has been published over the years, in some of its parts, in books and magazines.

L'elegante palazzina risale ai primi del 1900, proprietà di una antica famiglia dell’aristocrazia romana trasferitasi a Milano negli anni Venti. Situata in una zona tranquilla e prestigiosa della città, a pochi passi dal Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi e da piazza del Duomo, la casa ha ospitato per quasi cinquant’anni lo scrittore Luigi Santucci, vincitore del Premio Campiello nel 1967, considerato dalla critica uno dei maggiori esponenti della letteratura italiana della seconda metà del secolo scorso. Il piano seminterrato, spesso utilizzato per ricevimenti e feste, è stato affrescato dai pittori Giuseppe Novello e Mario Vellani Marchi. La casa, che è stata nel corso degli anni pubblicata, in alcune sue parti, su libri e riviste, ha una indubbia importanza storica. Nella residenza di Santucci sono stati ospiti regolari illustri nomi della letteratura.
