Casa Del Sol Panoramic Residence

Description

"Casa del sol" is located on top of a natural terrace west of Santa Ana within the ecological project "Montana del Sol" and with a unique panoramic view of the central valley that includes the mountainous areas, volcanoes and hills of Escazú. The main goal in this design was to achieve interacting spaces with these spectacular views from all corners of the house.
The house was designed by renowned architects Julia van Wilpe and Noel Caravaca

The functions of the residence are presented as isolated volumes with elements of articulation between one and two levels. The heavy materials such as rock and concrete are mixed with other light materials such as glass, wood and metal achieving a harmonious industrial air with an intimate and homely character.

The access to the house is done by means of a sinuous ramp through the trees which ends in a small square in which the 4 separate volumes converge subtly but spatially integrated emphasizing from the beginning the differences in the internal zoning of the house and that allow from observing the surrounding nature through transparencies and wide spaces.

A glass bridge crosses a water mirror that projects light reflections on the skies of the house.

The gardens and terraces constitute transition zones between the modules allowing the natural outdoor environment to penetrate the house on all levels and in all four dimensions, creating a unique visual and sensorial dynamic.

The light penetrates everywhere to all the spaces creating a changing atmosphere, like an extension of the same forest.
This four bedroom residence is the perfect place for an outdoor lover and a great residence to raise a family.
The house has panoramic views from the entrance to the bedrooms and has spaces such as the swimming pool, jacuzzi and firepit which enables the property to also have a social environment.
