Pinerolo, Italy

Description

The villa, named Cascina Raviola, a recovery of rural buildings and an annexed house, is situated on the Pinerolo’s hills at an elevation of 511 m with an enchanting view that extends from the distant mountains and beyond Monviso until Torino.
On clear days you can enjoy the view of the Basilica of Superga.
The realisation has been done by the Studio GABETTI & ISOLA of Torino, in the person of architect Guido Drocco (that designed together with Franco Mello the Cactus for Gufram in 1972). The construction, made with attention to the smallest details and with valuable materials of highest quality, has been published several times on the specialised books and magazines as “one of the most beautiful houses of the 80’s”.
The villa is situated in the centre of a big property of 123'865 sq.m. cultivated with vineyards and an olive grove with the annexed house of the guardian (85 sq.m.) and various farm buildings, designated as storage of tools, shelter for machinery and so on.
The main villa (617 sq.m.) expands on 2 habitable floors and 1 basement floor (101 sq.m.), assigned to cellars, garages and various storage rooms.
At the ground floor there is a very wide entrance that opens into a living room with view and into a dining room, a bathroom, a big chimney, a very large kitchen with a pizza oven and 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms.
The entrance hall leads to the upper floor through a staircase built in terracotta with an overlying skylight for the natural lighting. The aisle that surrounds the staircase leads to the 4 bedrooms with bathrooms and to the reading room. The master bedroom gives access to a small observation tower through a staircase.

Currently the olive trees (leccini and nostrale brisighella varieties) and vineyards are being cultivated, with natural methods and with the utmost respect for the land and the environment.
The Doux d’Henry of Pinerolo is produced, obtained by the pure vinification of an autochthon and self-sterile grape and so is the Barbera, produced with 100% barbera grapes of the Pinerolo’s hill.
