The boundaries between interior and exterior spaces are sometimes blurred, adapting themselves to the site and vice versa. The trees, the water and the earth become additional materials that interact with the building itself. It is not only a natural setting, but also a cultural one, which we treat with humility in order to establish a dialogue with it and also to strengthen it, generating a simple and elegant architecture with a purposeful value.
The project is designed as a platform made of natural stone walls on which two concrete volumes rest on, recalling the outlines of masonry walls that were used traditionally to build the terracing of the lands in the region. The buildings layout is organized in such a way that practically the whole program is set out on the ground floor, adjoining the exterior space with the terrace and pool. Fluid and unified spaces that open up to nature provide interior and exterior visual connections. The aim is to create elements with their own identity that intensify the idea behind the project. The principal materials used in this dwelling are bare concrete and stone extracted from the area, seeking virtue, solemnity and elegance. This results in pleasant spaces inside whilst creating dominant and forceful volumes outside. With a total of 3 bedrooms with their own ensuite bathrooms, a guest toilet servicing the day area and an outside bathroom at the poolside, this home is designed for comfortable year-round living and the full enjoyment of the views and Mediterranean climate.
