Description of buildings
Villa Inglese was constructed between the 18th and 19th centuries and completely renovated and completed in 2011. The property is composed of a small basement with storage room and technical room, three symmetrical floors above ground and a fourth, smaller floor.
On the ground floor, the drive-through gate leads to the front door, which opens onto a wide entrance area with an exit to an external passageway, a bathroom to the right, a corridor and a welcoming study with open fireplace and French doors. To the left, we find the living area with the kitchen, a large dining area with fireplace and the lounge, which gives access to the bathroom and, through an independent entrance, to the concierge's apartment located on the first floor and accessible from an internal stairway, composed of a living area, double bedroom and bathroom. An original stone staircase leads from the entrance to the first floor, where a large living room opens onto the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and access to a small terrace, another two bedrooms, a bathroom and an additional bedroom/study with a majestic solid wood stairway leading (like the one positioned to the side of the entrance) to the upper floors: in fact, after a few stairs we find a door leading to the second floor, with a large bathroom with dressing room, a living room (with stairway leading back to the entrance hall), three bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the third and last floor we find a wonderful bedroom with ensuite bathroom and access to a large balcony with a beautiful view.
The property is completed by an annex granted for use, originally a lemon-house, that has also been renovated and today employed as an atelier committed to the history of the villa and to historical local figures.
Energy class D.
The property has been elegantly renovated, and is currently in excellent condition.
The original features have been preserved, even salvaging an original bathroom with rose and green marble, granite and Baroque elements.
The floors of the villa are almost all in herringbone parquet, with the exception of the technical rooms, bathrooms and kitchen.
The careful and measured use of stuccoes and craft-painting, in "pendant" with the wall-mounted furniture, lends the rooms a warm and welcoming elegance, with the atmosphere of a Provence country home.
The many windows, positioned symmetrically on the main facades of the property, with wooden frames made using the latest technology, just like the materials used for the finishings and utility systems.
The property is therefore ready to be furnished in any style you prefer: both classic and contemporary furnishings would fit perfectly.
The property, next to other historical palaces in the old town, is completely surrounded by historical walls and offers two exclusively-owned outdoor areas, to the north (210 m2) along the driveway and the covered garage (for 1 vehicle) and to the south (135 m2), where you will find a gazebo and fountain area for outdoor dining and the annexed lemon-house currently set up as a studio/atelier.
The property also has the use of a wonderful botanic park covering nearly 5,000 m2, with a Roman amphitheatre framing the ancient oaks, holm oaks and magnolia trees. The licence to use the park is granted exclusively to the villa, with an agreement - in consideration of the historical and natural importance of the park - to allow visits for two hours each week (Saturday mornings) or on request.
Beyond the park there is a parking area, also granted to the villa and with an automatic gate, for around 6 vehicles.
Facilities & utilities
All the property’s water/gas/electricity systems are newly designed and offer the possibility for an upgrade to domotics. The heating system, thanks to its excellent isolation, is easy and economical to use.
Usage and potential
Villa Inglese has been renovated for residential use, ideal as a home for a large family; alternatively, the property could be split into two semi-independent units.
Thanks to the multi-year licence to use the park in front of the villa, the property would also be perfect for entertainment, hosting parties or open air events.
Its privacy and easy access to services (on foot), make Villa Inglese unique for the context of its location.
