Merrilee brings a familial understanding to Northern Utah’s real estate market. From land developers and building contractors on her mother’s side to sheep and cattle ranchers who grazed animals in the meadows and grasslands on her father’s, Merrilee’s roots are made up of original Utah pioneers. A deep appreciation for the land coupled with her keen attention to market conditions offers unique advantages for her clients, whether it’s getting just the right value when selling a home, or assisting new home buyers through the real estate process.
After college, Merrilee moved to San Francisco, developing an appreciation for Victorian homes, haute cuisine, and the unique city life there. She later returned to Utah to start a family, since there was no question that her children should grow up close to her roots. After a successful career in the luxury lifestyle and business publications industry, Merrilee transitioned into real estate. Although Merrilee’s real estate career was born out of the turbulent economic times of the late 2000’s, her previous work in advertising sales and marketing gave her the fortitude and resolve necessary to not only meet the market challenges head-on but to also exceed in sales. She attributes her continued success to a persevering commitment, a passion for advocating for her clients, and good business sense.
Merrilee knows no two real estate transactions are ever the same because people, like houses, are both individual and different in many aspects. She is a Certified Negotiation Expert, and will negotiate contracts on her clients’ behalf that lead to a successful experience buying or selling. Her calm demeanor and valuable experience enables her to guide clients through any potential challenges while maintaining focus on the end goal. She considers her greatest real estate accomplishment to be an ever-widening circle of satisfied clients who refer their closest friends and family. It’s a trust she doesn’t take for granted.
Merrilee works tirelessly on her clients’ behalf, and along with the Sotheby’s brand’s exceptional marketing tools and network of buyers worldwide, she creates a customized marketing plan designed to sell one’s home. She also provides traditional print and web-based publications to connect buyers and sellers living in the region. For her buyers, Merrilee and her team of professionals assist with every step, ensuring the best possible experience with top experts from lenders to home inspectors.
When not involved in the day-to-day work of real estate transactions, Merrilee and her husband Kevin enjoy entertaining family and friends, live music and traveling. Merrilee's passion is endurance cycling, raising money for charities near and dear to her heart. She and Kevin live in the historic district of Salt Lake with their dog Ginger.
