He is now a member of the elite group “The Thousand Top Real Estate Professionals,” a prestigious national awards ranking sponsored annually by the two respected publications. Leon is now ranked in the top one half of 1 percent of the more than 1,100,000 REALTORS® nationwide. According to The Thousand, Leon had sales volume totaling $25,610,325, ranking him 128th in the nation under Individual Sales Professionals by Sales Volume.
Leon’s real estate credentials range from local to international. He holds the industry’s highest professional designation – CRS (Certified Residential Specialist). Unique Homes featured him as one of the top real estate professionals in the U.S. and Who’s Who in Residential Real Estate named him as one of the most successful real estate professionals in North America. Leon’s sales volume has resulted in over $300,000,000 of closed real estate transactions locally.
As a measure of his integrity, Leon was named the RAMC Realtor of the Year in 1998. He has served on the Realtor Association of Martin County’s Board of Directors, served as its Secretary/Treasurer and was the Association President for 2004. In 2004, he was presented with the first Community Service Award to recognize Realtors® who make an exceptional contribution to improve the quality of life in our community.
In 2007, Leon was presented with the Distinguished Service Award from the Realtor Association of Martin County. He has worked with NAR to create its first Policy on Water Resources. Leon was presented with the Business Advocate Award by the Stuart/Martin Chamber of Commerce in 2012 and most recently, the RAMC presented Leon with the 2013 Community Service Award for the second time.
Leon was asked to form the first Healthy Environment-Healthy Economy Task Force for the FAR (Florida Association of Realtors), which led to establishing a state-wide water quality policy; the first of its kind. Leon was selected to receive the “Conservationist of the Year” award, by the Conservation Alliance of St. Lucie County, in recognition of outstanding efforts dedicated to the restoration of the St. Lucie River and the Indian River Lagoon.
Leon is Chairman Emeritus of the highly respected Rivers Coalition, representing over 80-member organizations and more than 300,000 Floridians working to protect and restore the health of the St. Lucie River Estuary and the Indian River Lagoon.
A native New Yorker, Leon enjoys traveling, playing music and cooking.
