April Newland is a second generation Realtor. Her family started their real estate company in 1957 after moving to St. Thomas from Long Beach Michigan City, Indiana. Both of her parents were founding members of the St Thomas-St. John Board of Realtors and the Territorial Association of Realtors.
At the age of eighteen, April became the youngest Broker in the Virgin Islands. Through years of hard work and dedication she has built her company into an internationally recognized brokerage company offering excellent customer service and an in depth perspective into the realm of Caribbean Real Estate.
April has been featured on the cover of the National Association of Realtors, Realtor magazine distributed to over one million members; she represented the Virgin Islands in San Francisco speaking at the Caribbean Convention held by the Department of the Interior. April was recently featured on the TLC's reality show Million Dollar Agent. Currently, she is working with the director of a new real estate show to air this winter. In 2005, April was featured in a special article in the Robb Report, Elegance in Living, the International Herald Tribune and several other national and international publications.
April feels passionately about being actively involved in protecting children against violence and serves on the Board of Directors of the Family Resource Center. She also serves on the St. Thomas Board of Directors and the Virgin Islands Territorial Association of Realtors.
Family is a very important part of her life raising two children in the Virgin Islands, ages 11 and 19. Both Scott and Shannon love the beautiful Caribbean waters and enjoy an array of water sports.
Newland Real Estate has been built on the ability to find properties that fits buyer needs even if it means searching through all records, knocking on doors, or spending countless hours fact finding. The synergism between agents at Newland Real Estate is not often found in the industry. The attitude of the entire staff is of cooperation, helpfulness, kindness and upbeat. Our clientele will readily tell you that their experience in buying or selling property with Newland Real Estate has been a pleasure.
