Sam arrived in Tahoe full-time on January 3, 1988, after falling in love with the mountains and Lake Tahoe as a “weekend warrior” during his years living in San Francisco. As is often the case with Tahoe residents, he was attracted to the area for the winters, but stayed because of the summers.
Sam’s real estate career began in 1989 as a rental agent in Tahoe City for one of the largest property management firms. He quickly transitioned to real estate sales and has been a full-time active real estate agent ever since, listing and selling homes, condominiums, and vacant parcels from Tahoe’s west and north shores to Truckee, Incline Village and Reno.
A licensed real estate broker in both Nevada and California, Sam’s professional experience has provided his clients with the confidence, information, and assurance they need to make clear and wise decisions.
Sam is also an active member of the local communities. A past president of the Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors and only the fifth recipient of the “Bud Jones Distinctive Service Award,” he currently serves as the Local Government Relations committee chair and sits on the Executive Committee for all Board Business. Currently an honorary member, Sam is also a past-president of the local North Lake Tahoe Kiwanis International chapter.
Sam was also a local teacher, teaching in the Incline Village and Truckee-North Tahoe school districts. Now a “recovering English and History teacher,” Sam still gets a kick out of hearing, “Mr D, do you remember me?” from past students.
After more than 30 years of living at Lake Tahoe, Sam and his wife, Trina Padden still live on Tahoe’s north shore with their golden doodle, Apple. They’re very active as they enjoy skiing, mountain and road cycling, camping, gardening, golf, paddle boarding, and yoga.
