MEET BARBARA BUTLER: Your Collin County Real Estate Agent
Barbara was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh. Her father was in the coal mining industry. When she was 14, her family moved to Colorado. “My father taught us a strong work ethic and encouraged us to work hard to reach our goals. He ended up getting his real estate license, so for me it was natural to follow in his footsteps,” says Barbara.
Barbara and her family relocated to Texas in 1998. She became a full time Realtor in 2002. Within just a few years she was a top producing agent, not just in her office, but also county and statewide. Her extensive knowledge of the local real estate market is unparalleled. Clients choose to work with Barbara for her expertise, ethics, and experience and have trusted her with hundreds of real estate transactions. She is well-respected not just by her clients, but also among other agents in the industry.
What sets her apart?
Thanks to personal referrals, repeat business and her exceptionally loyal clientele, she has been ranked as one of “D Magazines Top Producers” for multiple years and has been honored with the “Five Star Real Estate Professional” award since 2010. She is a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and has earned her Million Dollar Guild award within that designation, meaning she is an experienced agent in the luxury sale and marketing of multi-million dollar homes.
Barbara specializes primarily in areas north of Dallas, such as Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Fairview, Lucas and Parker, where most of the increase in job growth and relocation is occurring.
Leveraging her past experience as a relocation counselor, she is known for outstanding customer service and skilled negotiations, all while having her client’s best interests at heart. “Having worked with a national relocation firm, I relate very well to my clients, not just because I worked there, but because I have gone through the relocation process several times before making Texas my permanent home.”
Barbara has also been trusted by some of the largest banks in America to represent them in the sale of their properties. “They relied on me to put together a detailed marketing plan for each of hundreds of properties, as well as to recommend repairs, oversee the repair process, and sell those houses for a profit in the shortest amount of time possible,” she says candidly. This experience is especially helpful for homebuyers who seek her opinion on renovations or repairs when buying and selling homes.
Barbara not only represents her clients, but also educates them throughout every step of the process. She is proactive and tends to details so they don’t become issues. She is armed with the most recent insights and current trends in the marketplace, both of which are necessary in today’s fast-paced market.
Why Collin County?
Having raised her family in Allen, all four of her children attended schools in the highly-acclaimed school districts of both Allen and Lovejoy ISD. “Both are phenomenal districts,” she says, “Each has something different to offer. That’s what’s so great about this area, whatever you may be looking for, we have it. There are also great private schools if that’s your preference.”
She believes in giving back
Barbara is a firm believer in giving back. Being a mother of four, she is particularly passionate about children’s charities, most notably Children’s Miracle Network. For each closing, she makes a donation to CMN and has done so since 2006.
In her free time
She loves to read, dine at the latest restaurants, shop and travel. She has traveled Europe and has been to nearly every state in the U.S. Some of her favorite places abroad include Honfleur France, Prague and Monaco. Stateside, her favorites include Colorado, New York City and Kauai. However, to Barbara, family is most important, with her greatest accomplishments being her four grown children: April, Austin, Zac and Shaylee.
