Colleen Barry is a fifteen year veteran of the real estate industry and is the CEO of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty. During her time as a member of the leadership team, the firm’s annual sales have grown fivefold, with closed sales in excess of $1.4 billion in 2016 (MLSpin). REAL Trends recognized Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty as one of the top Sotheby’s International Realty franchises in the United States and one of the top 200 firms of any brand for 2016.
Mrs. Barry has led both marketing and productivity efforts at different times during her tenure. Mrs. Barry assisted in the transition of Gibson domain domain into the Sotheby’s International Realty network in 2006. As such, she is keenly able to help agents learn how to leverage the brand and network to enhance their services to their clients. In 2016, she launched a national Mastermind Group of dozens of Sotheby’s International Affiliates as a platform to share ideas and best practices with other brokerage leaders.
In 2012, she spearheaded a business planning module and learning curriculum to support our agents in their professional and personal growth. Through business planning, agents experience an average of 30% year-over-year growth. She is known for exploring the findings of other disciplines and professions to uncover new ideas. She uses the philosophies and teachings of Seth Godin, Simon Sinek, Bob Burg, Stephen Covey and Shawn Achor, to name a few. She wrote her own primer on business planning in 2015: “There Is No Such Thing As Luck.” Mrs. Barry has been a guest on Real Estate Radio Boston and is a contributor to Inman News.
A New England native, Mrs. Barry was born and raised in Connecticut and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. She has taken classes at Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education. She has lived in Greater Boston for 20 years and now resides in Belmont. She is a licensed Real Estate Agent and a member of the National Association of REALTORS.
