A fourth-generation Dallasite with 15 years of real estate experience, Betsy Cameron lends her proven leadership skills and industry expertise to oversee Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty’s Lovers Lane and Lakewood operations as the Director of Sales for both offices.
When asked what she enjoys about the business of real estate, her first answer is her love of people and of serving them. As Sales Manager, Betsy serves as a valuable resource to the brokerage’s Lovers Lane and East Dallas agents and focuses on recruitment, retention and production.
As a licensed real estate agent for 11 years, Betsy became a trusted advisor for clients, consulting them through decision-making process and whether to add on or move on - something she knows a lot about. In just over ten years, Betsy and her husband lived in seven different properties. Betsy renovated and acted as the general contractor for each one - and every renovation turned a significant profit.
Betsy is, by her own admission, “over the top” on details. This precision has served her well in negotiating contracts as well as in evaluating what could work best financially for buyers and sellers. That has included working up a detailed cost analysis on the advisability of renovating a property versus selling it and moving on.
Betsy comes by her real estate savvy naturally as the daughter of Janis Wells, who has been in the business for many years. As a successful multi-million dollar team, Betsy and Janis served clients ranging from families looking for their first and second homes, to out-of-state executives moving into the area.
After graduating from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Betsy taught at her alma mater, Highland Park High School.
Betsy is married to Brad Cameron and is the mother of two children. Betsy and her family attend Highland Park United Methodist Church, and she is a dedicated volunteer at Highland Park High School. She also serves many different philanthropies through the Young Men’s Service League with her two teenaged boys.
