Eileen Bennett is an accomplished horsewoman with a lifelong love of the outdoors. She believes that a great piece of land large or small in a good location with well executed improvements is like a fine antique or a piece of art: a thing of beauty, rarity and value. Prior to beginning her career in real estate, Eileen spent 14 years on working ranches throughout the southwest riding, showing and assisting in the training of top cutting horses. While visiting a ranch near the city of Athens, an hour southeast of Dallas, she fell in love with the lakes, hills and majestic oaks of rural East Texas and decided to settle there. Eileen's career in real estate began nearly 20 years ago after a friend convinced her that it was the perfect occupation for her combined interests and talents. She quickly became one of the highest selling agents in the area, specializing in ranch, land and lake, as well as upscale residential and lake house properties in Henderson, Anderson and Van Zandt counties. Over the years she has developed a passion for architectural design and landscaping as well as a strong interest in historic homes and structures. She holds the designation of Advanced Preservation Dallas Historic Home Specialist and is a graduate of the Master Gardener program. While researching the modern architecture trend in the Texas Hill Country, she worked with an architect in Dallas to design and build a modern ranch home outside Athens that was featured in Texas Architect magazine in 2012. Her experience in remodeling and construction, combined with her aesthetic sensibilities, enables Eileen to assist buyers in seeing a home or property's potential and assist sellers in preparing and presenting their properties to their best advantage. Through her years of experience in rural property management and development, Eileen has had the privilege of working with some of the best farm, ranch and wildlife specialists and thinkers in the state. One recent project included the engineering, construction, habitat creation, stocking and management of a 30-acre lake and 400+ acre ranch in East Texas. She has routinely worked with the Forest Service, Agricultural Extension services and various fish and wildlife management specialists, and she holds a Texas applicators license. She also has extensive experience working with local taxing authorities on property valuations and agricultural and wildlife exemptions. Eileen is a former Chairman of the Athens Zoning Board and has served on the Ethics Hearing Panels of the Henderson County Board of Realtors and Texas Association of Realtors. She is a past Appraisal Review Board member, has served as a CASA Advocate, and is a past Kiwanis Club President. Eileen is a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and is active in the Park Cities Presbyterian Church. Both detail and goal oriented, Eileen has a proven track record of getting things done and transactions closed. She asks questions and listens to help understand client needs, desires and concerns. While a tenacious protector of client interests, she does everything in her ability to ensure a positive experience for all parties in a transaction; buyers, sellers and cooperating agents. Long established community ties and business relationships in Henderson, Anderson and Van Zandt counties, and an intimate knowledge of the area, give Eileen the ability to better serve her clients in ways seen and unseen.
