1510950358DENVER, CO - Embracing the impermanence in our universe – in shifting sands, in the flowers that bud, then blossom, then fade, in the ebb and flow of our connections with others – compels us to seize the opportunities and appreciate the gifts we have right now in a quest to live every moment to its fullest.’ – this concept is explored in Beth Erickson Sand’s art exhibit, “Ephemerality”, which will be on display at Alliance Française de Denver November 3rd – December 23rd, 2017. On the evening of December 1st, 2017, a special reception, along with the “First Friday” art walk, will take place.

Beth Erickson“This series, varied in visual tone, celebrates the stroll through the flower garden, the open water dive over a busy coral reef, the richness of our relationships and the energetic journey of lives well lived,” said Sand. “This show is dedicated with love to my father, Albert Erickson.”

Her current exhibit is an exploration of the ephemerality of our universe, and the fleeting nature of beauty. Her chosen mediums are acrylics on glass, canvas and wood, emphasizing texture and color, using techniques and tools that vary with each piece.

“My paintings are the visual expression of bold emotion on canvas or glass. Taking a Jungian approach to art, I do not meticulously plan my paintings but rather start with a loosely abstract idea and let the creative process mold and shape the piece as I work,” said Sand. “Specific personal emotions dominate each individual piece, but as in most abstract work, each piece is subject to individual interpretation by the observer.”
