NEW YORK – (Jan. 22, 2008) – “Women in Relocation,” a New York City-based group of relocation professionals in the Tri-State area, held their Second Annual Holiday Luncheon recently at Banc Café in New York City. Dedicated to providing a forum to meet and develop a network with colleagues, the group is committed to making a positive contribution to the real estate industry and global community. Joan Erni, Vice President of Relocation with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, is a member of this organization. The group was celebrating their first full year together and the many accomplishments it had already achieved. At a prior event, they had named a charity which they would support in 2007. “Homes For Our Troops”, a non-profit, non-partisan group that builds specially adapted homes for our severely injured veterans of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, will receive its donations, as well as coverage on the website, www.womeninrelo.com. There had already been donations of over $2,000.00 sent and the group had hoped to raise additional funds at the luncheon. Some members donated generous gifts to the “Silent Auction” and by the end of the luncheon over $1,000 had been raised. Additionally, donations were made to purchase neck pillows for the troops and addresses were shared so Holiday Cards could be sent to veterans recovering in hospitals. Dress For Success had recently aligned itself with the group and their information is now on the website.
