1479835352TRUCKEE, CA - Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty expands to the Village at Northstar.

On the cusp of winter, Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty’s expands its presence in Lake Tahoe to include all of the “big three” ski resort Villages; The Village at Squaw Valley, The Shops at Heavenly and now The Village at Northstar. This brings the region-wide office count for the independently owned luxury real estate brokerage to a total of nine locations throughout Lake Tahoe and Truckee.

“It’s important for us to diversify our office footprint to best market the variety of high end properties we represent,” says Peter Strand, Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty President. “The lakefront market is an important segment for luxury real estate in Lake Tahoe, but, we’re equally committed to the ski, golf and farm & ranch lifestyles that we service throughout the area.  Northstar is an integral part of that lifestyle property mix. As we’ve seen our client relationships with the surrounding communities such as Martis Camp, Lahontan and Mountainside continue to bloom, this new location in the Village at Northstar is a natural fit.”

The Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty office footprint has nearly doubled since January 2015. However, according to Strand, they are still a relatively young brand in the Lake Tahoe/ Truckee marketplace.  “In 2005 we opened our first very small office in Squaw Valley which was just before the market took a turn. And we continued to grow very gradually through the downturn.  It was just last February that we opened our Downtown Truckee and Tahoe City Lakeside offices. Shortly after, in December 2015, we opened shop at Heavenly Village/ Stateline, and now, ten months later, the Village at Northstar.”

“We’ve come a long way in a very short time,” says Strand, crediting their sustainable growth to an internationally recognizable and well-respected brand. In fact, the Sotheby’s International Realty brand now has over 20,000 agents across 850 offices in 65 countries around the World. “Ninety two of those office are in Lake Tahoe’s Northern California feeder markets,” he adds. “Those trusted Bay Area relationships are obviously very important to our buyers and sellers.”

“It’s important to mention that our growth strategy has always been to create more targeted exposure for our real estate professionals and the extraordinary properties they represent,” adds Strand. “Our core focus is on quality so our goal is to be the area's best brokerage, not the biggest. Hence, we require a high level of professionalism, market expertise and integrity from our affiliates. It’s what our clients expect and deserve from the Sotheby’s International Realty brand.”

“We’re excited to embark upon this next chapter alongside Vail Resorts,” he adds. With its sister companies, Summit Sotheby’s in Park City, Utah, and LIV Sotheby’s with offices in Denver, Boulder, Breckenridge and Vail Valley, Sierra Sotheby’s offers a unique relationship with agents, buyers and sellers in similar resort markets which has played well into their ability to cross market to areas served by Vail Resorts and other lifestyle driven destinations.

Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty’s new office is located on the Village’s main ice rink level, next door to Tahoe Mountain Club’s private Alpine Club.
