1476203923DENVER, CO – Carrie Wernecke-Swenson, an accomplished Broker Associate with Kentwood City Properties, will be honored with SafeHouse Denver’s 2016 Susan Noble Community Impact Award at the annual Hope Gala on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Denver.1476203582

The annual award is presented in recognition of the recipient’s outstanding efforts to assist victims of domestic violence and create community change.  SafeHouse Denver, established in 1977, is the only shelter in the City and County of Denver that exclusively serves victims of domestic violence.  SafeHouse also runs a non-residential Counseling & Advocacy Center where support services are provided for adults, children, and youth who are experiencing intimate partner violence who do not need emergency housing.

Wernecke-Swenson is a longtime volunteer of SafeHouse Denver.  She served on the organization’s Board of Directors from 2009 through 2016, including two years as Board Chair, and has held multiple leadership positions in conjunction with the annual Hope Gala.  Her dedication to SafeHouse’s mission is truly selfless and inspires others to become involved.

Over the years, Wernecke-Swenson has introduced more than four dozen new supporters to the SafeHouse mission, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars collectively donated through their generosity.  A survivor of domestic violence herself, Wernecke-Swenson is a tireless ambassador for SafeHouse Denver and the broader issue of domestic violence. 

Wernecke is a member of the Colorado Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.  She earned her real estate license in 2000 and was recognized as a Five Star Real Estate Agent by Colorado’s 5280 Magazine signifying superior service and customer satisfaction.
