1474049545DENVER, CO - Seven leading Broker Associates with Kentwood Real Estate recently participated in the challenging, and character-building Over the Edge event to benefit the Cancer League of Colorado.  The seven adventurous and caring real estate professionals rappelled down the 29-story skyscraper at 1600 Glenarm Place on Friday, September 9th during the thrilling three-day fundraiser.

Michele Ciardullo, one the participants and an accomplished broker with Kentwood Real Estate DTC, spearheaded putting the group together.  The six other Kentwood participants include: Keri Duffy and Libby Levinson of Kentwood Real Estate Cherry Creek; Meredith Hotz and Steven Kruse of Kentwood Real Estate DTC; and Stacy Neir and Lea VanSchaack of Kentwood City Properties.  In addition to these leading agents, Broker Associate Liz Richards of Kentwood City Properties, who was unable to attend the event, raised $1,133 for the cause.

“This was a truly amazing event and a very thrilling experience for participants and visitors alike,” said Ciardullo.  “Over the Edge gives participants a life-changing opportunity to rappel down a towering skyscraper while raising money for Colorado-based cancer research.  By raising a minimum of $1,000, you can experience the thrill of a lifetime while helping those in need.  This was the second year that Kentwood brokers have participated in the Over the Edge fundraiser and we are already looking forward to next year.”

Total funds raised this year by the eight Kentwood agents and by others who donated on their behalf was $11,316 for the Cancer League of Colorado.  In addition, Alex Gruitch, the 13-year-old daughter of Kentwood agent Elise Marks Gruitch and granddaughter of Kentwood broker Edie Marks, also participated and was the number three fundraiser with $8,624.  When combined, the total contribution is $19,940, which is impressive by any measure.

Unique to nonprofits, the Cancer League of Colorado has no paid staff and no offices.  All operating expenses are covered by membership dues and their volunteer staff.  Cancer League of Colorado now has more than 400 volunteer members who share the commitment to fight cancer and support cancer research.

One hundred percent of all donations go directly to cancer research and cancer patient services in the state of Colorado.  Since 1985, Cancer League has donated more than $15 million in grants toward cancer research and services.  For more information, please visit www.cancerleague.org.  For more information on the Over the Edge fundraising event, please visit www.denverovertheedge.com.
