1466527579DENVER, CO – Brian and Jamie Harris, leading Broker Associates with Kentwood City Properties, will host a Bone Marrow Donor Registration Drive to benefit Quade Marks, a nine-year-old third grader who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  The event will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Founders Green Park located at 7601 E. 29th Avenue in Stapleton from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.1466527558

“Quade is in critical need of a bone marrow transplant this fall, and we are trying to increase the donor pool by hosting an awesome event and getting as many families as possible to attend and pledge their support,” said Jamie Harris.  “We will have Bonfils Blood Center representatives in attendance registering donors, an incredible live band, fun things for kids, including a dunk tank, plus a silent auction.  Donors must be between 18 and 44 years old.

“So many people in the Stapleton community and surrounding neighborhoods have rallied in support for Quade,” Harris continued.  “Matt Wagner with Weber Shandwick has helped tremendously with a lot of planning, and has donated money in order to get the dunk tank at the event, and he also arranged for Quade’s lacrosse coaches to sit in the tank.  Quade’s teammates will get a chance to dunk their coaches.”

Numerous businesses have contributed to the fundraising event, including Ouray Sportswear which donated 100 T-shirts, and Machete Tequila and Tacos which donated its party bus, plus dinner and drinks for eight people at the company’s LoDo location.  Happy Bake Shop donated treats, and Wiese Communications helped put a promotional flyer together at no cost.  The Accidentals, a Michigan band, is providing music, and many of Quade’s teammates and friends from school will be at the event with creative ideas to raise additional funds for Quade’s treatment.  Other contributors include DU Lacrosse, Em’s Ice Cream, Project Rise Fitness, the Stapleton Jets, and Stapleton MCA.

Quade currently attends Swigert International School in Denver.  He plays lacrosse for the Stapleton Jets, loves to snowboard as a member of Team Summit in Breckenridge, and he plays the piano, guitar, and the drums.  Quade also likes football, soccer, swimming, diving, and surfing.  He lives with his parents, sister Lainey, 10, and his dog Envy.

Quade has been undergoing chemotherapy at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver.  He has been visited by many local college and professional athletes who, among many other people, have kept his spirits high during this journey back to good health.

Founders Green at Stapleton is a fantastic venue and the neighborhood’s local gathering place for summer markets, movies, music and more.  The park includes a dramatic fountain area for playing, benches, walking paths, trees and manicured lawns.
