1464899654MADISON, CT - William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that four country properties throughout Connecticut’s shoreline towns of Lyme, Colchester, Killingworth and Deep River, were chosen to be featured on an episode of HGTV’s brand new reality TV series “We Bought the Farm.” The tours of the homes, which were shown on the episode by Madison agent Heather Clinton, are set to air on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11 PM.

We Bought the Farm” is a half-hour reality show in which families wishing for open fields and country living search for their perfect luxury farm homestead. Properties featured vary from hundreds of sprawling acres to smaller properties offering quaint, charming lifestyles in some of the most affordable and beautiful farm locations across the country. This spring marks the first season of the HGTV show.

The April 16th episode, entitled “We Want to Be Connecticut Yankees,” will focus on homeowners Claire, a dietitian, and Steve as they set out to buy a farm to grow their own food and lead a more self-sustaining lifestyle. In addition to seeking this benefit, Steve also wishes to find a place closer to his daughter so he can spend more time with her, yet still be within a reasonable commuting distance from his job. During filming of the episode, Madison agent Clinton shows the eager couple a number of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty properties that fit these requests, eventually leading them to the purchase of their ultimate dream farm home.

318 Grassy Hill Road, located in Lyme, Conn., is one of the four homes visited on the show. The mini-farm property is represented by Old Lyme agent Byron Lazine, and boasts ample acreage for equestrian possibilities, as well as a six-bay carriage barn and tack room. 18 Cemetery Road, a Colchester, Conn. property listed with Essex agent Jennifer Caulfield, encompasses over 12 acres of bucolic land overlooking a pond and towering pines. Continuing on, Clinton shows 52 Tower Hill Road in Killingworth, Conn., a gentleman’s farm property that she has co-listed with Madison agent Janet Mashia. Situated in a serene, private setting, the property contains a remodeled, antique post and beam cape-style residence and a two-story, four-stall barn, within close proximity to Hammonasset Beach and State Forest trails. 256 Cedar Swamp Road, also known as “The Old Shailer Farmhouse,” is located in Deep River, Conn. and listed with Essex agent Rick Weiner. This final property boasts a masterfully renovated cape-style residence set on over two acres of manicured grounds neighboring fruit trees, Shailer Pond and hundreds of acres of protected state forest land with hiking and riding trails.

“I was absolutely thrilled to show Claire and Steve so many stunning farm properties around the region,” said Clinton. “The entire experience, from finding them their dream home to filming the show, was truly rewarding, and I look forward to seeing it all come to life during its April HGTV premiere.”
