1464712236DARIEN, CT - William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced its recent collaboration with the Sotheby’s Wine Department to host an exclusive open house event at one of the firm’s listings in Darien, Conn. The event, entitled “Expanding Your Cellar: A Taste of Burgundy,” is part of the “Sotheby’s Wine: On the Road” series, which introduces participants to fine wine, watches and jewels from Sotheby’s auction house.

Clients, senior leadership and select agents attended the evening affair, which was held at 72 Peach Hill Road, a Darien property for sale with a top-end wine cellar and ample room for entertaining. During the event, New York City Sotheby’s Wine Specialist and Vice President Sales Director Eli Rodriguez, spoke about each of the wine samples present. These were accompanied by an impressive display of jewelry and watches from the Sotheby’s auction catalog, adding yet another layer of excitement to the evening. Darien Brokerage Manager Lynley Middleberg, remarked that the occasion offered an incredible opportunity to see the connection and partnership that the firm has with the auction house in action. “Showing our clients that we value their properties in the same way that the auction house values their phenomenal inventory is remarkably special,” said Middleberg. “Having these incredible resources at our disposal is a tremendous asset for our clients. The level of exposure that this relationship affords is invaluable.”

72 Peach Hill Road is a five-bedroom, four and a half-bath contemporary located on one of Darien’s most prestigious streets. Originally built in 1970, the luxury residence has been completely renovated, boasting light-filled, open spaces, a generously sized great room, an updated kitchen with the latest appliances, as well as French doors leading out to a stone terrace overlooking 2.61 manicured acres of land complete with an in-ground pool. In addition to the home’s high-end wine cellar, amenities include a full gym, large, self-cleaning tropical fish aquarium, energy-efficient HVAC systems, a separate entrance for guests, master suite and more.

“It was an extraordinary event on all accounts, and we were honored to work with Sotheby’s,” said Bruce Baker, the agent from the firm’s Darien brokerage who represents this property. “Having the event at this particular residence allowed individuals to truly experience not only the brilliance of the items sold through Sotheby’s auction house first-hand, but also the lifestyle this home has to offer—chic luxury in a living space that represents the ultimate entertainer’s, and of course, wine lover’s dream.”
