Located at the northwest corner of Palm Lane & Central Avenue in Phoenix, the ticketed evening began with a tour of the three newly designed Chateaus, followed by a courtyard celebration with gourmet bites, wine and bubbly, and an opportunity for party goers to vote on their favorite designer.

Competing against Burg in the year-long challenge were Charles Glover of Charles Glover Interiors who designed a Chateau inspired by Hollywood Regency and Beth McGehee of SB Design Studio who fused modern and vintage.

The judges included Luxury REALTOR and Chateau listing agent Monica Monson of Monson Luxury Group at Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, Fashion, Design and Interior Architecture Expert Oscar De las salas, Luxury Fashion & Design Guru Kelly Persellin, and Celebrity Guest Judge Luis D. Ortiz of Million Dollar Listing New York.

During the year-long design challenge, that began in February of 2015, the three selected designers - Burg, Glover and McGehee - were each given a budget and one Chateau to design from the shell to completed stage.  Each designer was responsible for designing five levels of their respective Chateau from floor to ceiling. The luxurious Chateaus, which each come equipped with an in-home elevator, range in size from 5,200-square-feet to 5,700-square-feet and are currently listed by Monson.1457459383

"The Chateau on Central Design Challenge Arizona event started as a creative idea and became one of the Valley’s most talked about luxury interior design and real estate events so we couldn’t be happier,” said Monson. “We are so proud and honored to have worked with all three designers - Robert Burg, Charles Glover and Beth McGehee - who are incredibly talented and who approached the challenge head on. The interior spaces they created are very, very special and iconic in a way that will go on for generations."

The judges, in addition to those in attendance for Friday’s Reveal Party, had an opportunity to vote for his or her favorite Chateau.  The designers were judged in several categories including Best overall Chateau, Best Kitchen and Best Master Suite. Designer Beth McGehee, who wowed crowds with her kitchen’s concrete counter-tops and luxurious large master suite took home the top prize in both of those categories.

"We appreciate being recognized in the categories of Best Master Suite and Best Kitchen,” said MeGehee.  “We truly believe these two spaces are what make a house a home, and are absolutely the most important in creating a place where people can live, not just exist. To my team, thank you for all of your hard work, especially Joe Viterbo, who went above and beyond. And thank you again to the entire Chateau Design Challenge team for taking the time to orchestrate a much needed project in the Downtown Phoenix area."

Besides winning the title of Top Designer for Chateau on Central Design Challenge Arizona, Burg was also awarded four round trip tickets to New York City, including a three night stay in luxurious accommodations, a $10,000 Rolex watch from Coffin and Trout, and many other prizes.
