Lee and Marlene Zuker, current home owners of this iconic waterfront estate, often hear their home referred to as ‘ol’ Doc Collier’s house’ despite having been 13-year residents. After researching their home’s history, they found it was once the dreamwork of Boy Norfleet Collier, MD. A long-time aviation enthusiast, Dr. Collier designed his home to accommodate his Taylorcraft float-plane, complete with a hangar fitted with large sliding doors and railroad tracks. Lee, former U.S. Air Force pilot, is no stranger to flying. He has since embraced his home’s history, displaying some of his handiwork in the living room. Alongside her husband’s replicas sit Marlene’s first oil pieces, adding grace and balance to the couple’s haven.
The home’s history is not its only impressive focal point; “We never get tired of looking across the inlet, both at the boat traffic and the wildlife,” says Marlene. A beautiful sight it is to see, the water flourishes with orcas, seals, otters, eagles, and waterfowl.
