Chase Agents Boost Marketing With 3D Home Models

1440094476ZEPHYR COVE, NV – It takes more than just pictures to sell a home. Realtors are ever-striving to present their clients’ home in the best light possible. Chase International’s Jon Kirkpatrick and Klaus Utecht recently went even further when they tapped the skills and services of their affiliation with StayVisit to present potential buyers with three-dimensional immersive models of homes.

StayVisit is run and operated by Kirkpatrick’s wife. For these 3D tours, the company utilizes hardware and software from Matterport. It allows them to scan homes, businesses and other indoor spaces and create a three-dimensional representation of the space, giving viewers the opportunity to move through the home and see it from every angle – all from the convenience of their computer, mobile device or eventually through a virtual reality headset.

“A lot of our buyers come from out of the area and aren’t able to easily tour homes,” Kirkpatrick said. “This type of model takes precise measurements, allowing people to experience the true layout of a space, something that is often deceptive in simple images.”

Kirkpatrick said the innovative software has been available for more than a year and that while real estate is one of its intended uses, they are the first agents in the area to offer it to clients. In addition to the immersive tour, they can use software to capture still shots, include annotations, take and display measurements, create video tours, and create an “as-built” floor plan. The tours can be seen online and may eventually be experienced by virtual reality headsets such as Google Cardboard, which allows people to turn their smartphone into a virtual reality headset for just over a dollar.

“It really just captures the space in its entirety,” said Kirkpatrick, who this week is scanning a number of clients’ homes. “3D in marketing is really beginning to take off and being able to incorporate it into our services at its early stages is incredibly exciting.”
