BRECKENRIDGE, CO - On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty hosted the National Repertory Orchestra at their Breckenridge office location to preview American Symphony, a photographic and musical collaboration between Grammy Award winning composer, Mark O’Connor and renowned nature photographer, John Fielder.

A classical violin icon, O’Connor’s work includes a Grammy Award for his 2001 release of ‘Appalachian Journey’, 45 feature albums, and over 250 live performances. The artist has even coined his own string composition method, The O’Connor Method, for his American Classical approach to modern violin playing.
A nationally renowned photographer, publisher and environmentalist, John Fielder, hikes and skis hundreds of miles annually to capture, and record on film, some of Colorado’s most sublime natural places. He has worked tirelessly to promote the protection of Colorado’s open space and wetlands and was awarded the Aldo Leopold Foundation’s Achievement Award in 2011 for his efforts.
At the event, guests experienced O’Connor and Fielder’s joint interpretation of music and art inspired by the journey of American pioneers moving toward the Rocky Mountains. The performance was in support of the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO).
"It was an extraordinary event for my Americana Symphony to be performed in Breckenridge with the National Repertory Orchestra and paired with John Fielder's nature photography of beautiful Colorado landscapes,” said O’Connor. “Pairing John’s beautiful photos of bald eagles with one of my pieces entitled "Soaring Eagle, Setting Sun" was simply magical. This was a world premiere event and it would not have taken place without LIV Sotheby's International Realty. It was such a great artistic experience for so many.”

The NRO performs two full orchestral concerts each week in Breckenridge’s Riverwalk Center during the eight-weeks the orchestra is in residence. NRO members work with guest conductors, participate in seminars with inspiring clinicians, and perform in chamber ensembles with their peers through community engagement program.
