Growing Number of Agents Attend REALTORS® Toastmasters ChapterSAN FRANCISCO – (Aug. 27, 2007) – If you’re walking the walk, you’ve also got to be talking the talk. That is precisely why a handful of agents from Pacific Union GMAC Real Estate’s headquarters office in the Presidio keep attending weekly meetings of REALTORS® Toastmasters. Offered through the San Francisco Association of REALTORS® (SFAR), this industry chapter of Toastmasters International helps agents improve communication skills in a supportive setting designed to increase confidence and public-speaking abilities. Maria Marchetti is the most-recent Pacific Union sales associate to join the group.“At her very first meeting Maria won the Table Topics Award, which requires the ability to think and speak quickly without advance preparation,” said Richard Sax, a Pacific Union agent and former president of the SFAR in 1985 who advocates the benefits of Toastmasters to his colleagues, trying to encourage increased membership. “I am most pleased she has decided to join REALTORS® Toastmasters. Anderson is one of the advanced-level super stars of the SFAR chapter. She joined Toastmasters in 2003 to prepare for her role as president in 2004 of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR), and it worked.“Ellen has also been an inspiration to many of the Toastmasters who followed her in the chapter, including her significant other,” said partner Harrison. “She showed up most Mondays at the SFAR noon Toastmasters meetings and, as a result, her installation speech for the WCR was a knock-out.”REALTORS® Toastmasters meetings are held every Monday from noon to 1 p.m. the SFAR office at 301 Grove Street in San Francisco.
