SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Stefano DeZerega, a Top Producer and a Premier Property Specialist with Zephyr Real Estate, was awarded that company’s Golden Z Award at a company-wide gathering last week. DeZerega has been on the board of Directors of Pie Ranch for the past six years and currently sits as their Chairman. Pie Ranch – a sustainable farming operation in Pescadero is one of the Bay Area’s more unique community organizations. Pie Ranch cultivates a healthy and just food system from seed to table through food education, farmer training, and regional partnerships.
The educational component of Pie Ranch is only one of the missions for this non-profit organization. They are also committed to helping stabilize the dwindling coastal farming of the area, providing a vehicle for farmer training, and working with local partners to provide locally-grown produce to those who live and work in the Bay Area.
In addition to his work with Pie Ranch DeZerega is a dedicated volunteer in a number of other areas. He founded a charitable foundation and participated in the creation of the International Volunteer Programs Association. He has 15 years of experience promoting global education and student action on high school and college campuses across the United States and has designed and facilitated workshops to help students find meaningful international volunteer experiences.
He also wrote and published his own book in 2000 called How to Live Your Dream of Volunteering Overseas (Penguin Books). This six-year project included visiting dozens of community organizations and volunteers around the world.
