DENVER, CO – Kentwood Real Estate-Cherry Creek and the company’s top producing Brokers are supporting a variety of charitable organizations during the holiday season. The company’s caring professionals have adopted needy families for the 15th consecutive year while lending their support for Meals on Wheels and Father Woody’s Haven of Hope.
“We adopt needy families during the holiday season, identifying those who are experiencing particularly dire circumstances and truly need our help,” said Gretchen Rosenberg, Managing Broker of Kentwood Real Estate-Cherry Creek. “In past years, we’ve adopted a family with a single parent and a special needs son who were living in a hotel, a grandmother who was the sole caretaker of a grandchild with both a heart defect and cancer, and a family where the father was the sole breadwinner who was unable to work for months after a severe motorcycle accident.
“Another year we adopted a family where the father was laid off and the mother was trying to support their family of five via an at-home cake decorating business, plus another family with limited income and a son who was blind and needed special support. Our agents help us find these families every year, and we are proud to be involved.”
On November 25th in yet another charitable endeavor, Kentwood Cherry Creek agents delivered meals for the Meals on Wheels organization for the seventh year in a row helping get the M.O.W. Thanksgiving delivered. Brokers are divided into teams of two or three and deliver to between 12 and 15 routes. The agents will be taking on several more delivery routes the day before New Year’s Eve. Meals on Wheels is the oldest and largest national organization composed of and representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in all 50 states and U.S. Territories.
Agents with Kentwood Real Estate-Cherry Creek also collect winter clothes and toiletries for the homeless and deliver them to Father Woody’s Haven of Hope. The Mission of Father Woody’s is to provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, rehabilitation and hygienic services to the homeless and indigent.
“We collect unused hotel toiletries for men and women who go to Father Woody’s so they can take a warm shower and also provide coats, hats, gloves and other clothing to help keep them warm during the winter months,” said Rosenberg. “Our Meals on Wheels endeavor is among our most popular labors of love. It’s a great team building effort and it reinforces why we all have a lot to be thankful for.”
