ST. LOUIS, MO - Realtors at Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty gathered together this month to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, an awareness and fund-raising campaign for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease), which has gone viral via social media. The company had been challenged by Janet McAfee Real Estate.
The group assembled at the Clayton Fire Department for the dousing. The company challenged two of the Robb’s Riders corporate sponsors, USA Mortgage and Insight Title. Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty is also proud to participate in the Pedal the Cause Bike Challenge on September 28, 2014. Their team is affectionately named Robb’s Riders in honor of their very good friend and associate, Dave Robb, who was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in December of 2012. They are excited to report that, due to the treatment from Siteman, he has now been cancer-free for more than seven months! And, he will be able to ride in this year’s Pedal the Cause challenge. PTC is only in its fifth year, last year having raised more than $2 million. With 100% of donations staying right there in St. Louis, their own Siteman Cancer Center and St. Louis Children’s Hospital are the beneficiaries of each dollar raised by the incredible organization!
Team captains Stephanie Oliver, Sarah Tadlock & Kerry Brooks have successfully recruited 62 members to this year’s team, including 21 riders, five kids challenge participants, seven virtual riders and 29 volunteers. Volunteers will support and cheer for riders at the Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty office located at 8301 Maryland Avenue, Suite 100 in Clayton, Missouri.
Pedal the Cause “Dine Out” at Truffles last week raised more than $5,000. The band, Whiskey Morning, played from 5-10 p.m. And, a Vahan diamond bracelet (valued at $2,950) presented by Lordo's Diamonds was raffled. Truffles donated 15% back to Robb’s Riders.
